• What a night.  What a night.
  • Love to watch Thrive student authentically engage God in worship and chase after the calling.
  • Week 3 of the I Dare You series may be my favorite message so far.
  • Several students were home sick.  We are praying for those guys.
Here are some things we talked about:
In week 3 of the I Dare You series we talked about Zacchaeus and how he climb a tree to change his relationship with God.  He had a desire to see Jesus.  There is a difference between want and desire.  A want is just a thought and a desire is what stirs us to change.  Here are some things I learned from Zacch:

His desire brought dissatisfaction - he was not satisfied with his life the way it was.  He was looking for something.

His desire brought understanding - he understood he could not stand where everyone else stood and see Jesus.

His desire brought action - he was not afraid to do what ever it took to see Jesus.  He went out on a limb, the limb is unstable and lonely.

His desire brought obedience - God wants obedience over sacrifice.  Why?  He doesn't want what we do, He just wants us.

His desire brought accountability - accountability is taking responsibility for your actions.
